Why not bring your best friend?
The President Hotel’s owner Elizabeth Walsh, is a dog owner and has three Pomeranians along with her son’s Rottweiler. It’s not unusual to see one of the Pomeranians at The President Hotel, and Mrs Walsh doesn’t expect you to have to leave your family member (pet) at home.
The following story has caused much amusement for Mrs Walsh, so much so, that it might make its way into our standard terms & conditions:
A man wrote a letter to a small hotel he planned to visit on his vacation.
He wrote: “I would very much like to bring my dog with me. He is well-groomed and very well behaved. Would you be willing to permit me to keep him in my room with me at night?”
An immediate reply came from the hotel owner who said:
“I’ve been operating this hotel for many years. In all that time, I’ve never had a dog steal towels, bed clothes or silverware or pictures off the walls. I’ve never had to evict a dog in the middle of the night for being drunk and disorderly. I’ve never had a dog run out on a hotel bill.
Yes indeed, your dog is welcome at my hotel. And if your dog will vouch for you, you’re welcome to stay here, too.”
We would like to credit the author of this story, but they are unknown…
Needless to say, The President Hotel is a pet friendly hotel, some animals may have to remain in your room to avoid causing disruption to those who are wary of animals/birds. However, we realise that the owners of such pets would expect this anyway. Well behaved dogs however, can join you in Lincoln’s Coffee Shop and Wine Bar.
The only thing we ask, is that you contact us prior to booking, to confirm your pet will be staying with you. We do charge £10 per animal per night, as after your stay we will be spending extra time in cleaning your room for our next guest – who may not be as animal friendly as we are…
